About

Passionate about the Biblethe convictions that drive us

The God who created the universe has written us a love letter – a letter that tells us how incomparably great he is, how he has demonstrated his love for us, and how we can enjoy life to the full as he intended it. How amazing is that?

We could go on at length about why studying the Bible is so exciting. But John Piper has said it much better than we ever could…

Principles & Methods

The main purpose of Mining the Bible is to help you get feel for how different Bible genres work and how to get the most out of studying them. One of the key ways our study guides do this is by gradually introducing principles and methods, many of which are genre-specific, highlighted by our trademark Miner symbols.

Overview & Review

In MtB the process of seeing the big picture of the book is aided by the addition of an Overview Study at the start, with a couple of questions to think about whilst reading through the whole book, and a Review Study at the end, drawing together the important lessons and application of the book.

Study Summaries

Each study ends with a page summarising the key points of the passage, so while it’s recommended that you work really hard at figuring out the passage for yourself, you’ll never go away feeling completely confused as to what it’s about (hopefully!).

Historical Background

Keeping track of where books fit on a timeline in relation to other significant Biblical books and events isn’t easy. Many of our booklets begin by outlining the key historical information that is relevant to understanding the situation into which the book was written.
